The 19-year-old British-Belgian is working her way towards becoming the world’s youngest woman to fly around the globe solo. In her 325kg (717lbs) Shark UL prop plane, Rutherford plans to fly through over 50 countries across five continents. Through her feat, she hopes to encourage other young girls to pursue aviation and science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
