Flooding leaves much of Indonesian capital Jakarta submerged

Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency said that 9 neighbourhoods remain underwater as of December 7. Jakarta, where some areas of the city are sinking 20cm (7.8 inches) a year, is one of the fastest-sinking cities in the world. About 40 per cent of Jakarta is below sea level and there are predictions that sizable portions of it could be underwater by 2050. In August 2019, the country announced plans to move its capital from Jakarta to the island of Borneo in 2024. Fishermen rescued by Korean coast guard in fatal Chinese boat accident #shorts

Search teams with the Korean coast guard have pulled another fisherman from the sea after rescuing at least 12 others in a fatal fishing boat accident off the southwestern coast of South Korea. Fifteen men were working on the Chinese vessel when it capsized in rough seas, killing at least four fishermen. The South Korean coast guard is continuing the search on October 21, 2021, for at least two people who remain missing.
