Australia, Britain, Canada join US diplomatic boycott of Beijing Winter Olympics over human rights

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on December 8, 2021, that his government was “deeply troubled” by the allegations. But South Korea reiterated its support for the Winter Games, expressing hope that they will contribute to peace in the Korean peninsula. Chinese officials say that the Winter Olympics is not a stage for “political posturing and manipulation”, and that the boycotts will not affect the success of the Games, due to take place from February 4-20, 2022. Fishermen rescued by Korean coast guard in fatal Chinese boat accident #shorts

Search teams with the Korean coast guard have pulled another fisherman from the sea after rescuing at least 12 others in a fatal fishing boat accident off the southwestern coast of South Korea. Fifteen men were working on the Chinese vessel when it capsized in rough seas, killing at least four fishermen. The South Korean coast guard is continuing the search on October 21, 2021, for at least two people who remain missing.
