Death toll from destructive super Typhoon Rai climbs to at least 375 in the Philippines

The super typhoon slammed the country on December 16 as more than 380,000 people fled their homes and beachfront resorts. Police said on December 20 that 170 of the deaths were reported from the central Visayas region, which includes the provinces of Cebu, Bohol and Negros Oriental. As of December 20, at least 500 people were reported injured and 56 remain missing.
