Mass burials for Covid-19 victims in Papua New Guinea as unclaimed bodies pile up at morgue

The facility, built for just 60 deceased, now houses 300. The bodies have been left unclaimed for months. That’s a rarity in Papua New Guinea where funeral ceremonies typically draw large crowds and last for days. PNG continues to struggle with the pandemic. Testing is patchy and widespread fears over the vaccine have left health authorities struggling to find a solution. Only 2.25 per cent of the population are vaccinated, as of December 9, 2021. Fishermen rescued by Korean coast guard in fatal Chinese boat accident #shorts

Search teams with the Korean coast guard have pulled another fisherman from the sea after rescuing at least 12 others in a fatal fishing boat accident off the southwestern coast of South Korea. Fifteen men were working on the Chinese vessel when it capsized in rough seas, killing at least four fishermen. The South Korean coast guard is continuing the search on October 21, 2021, for at least two people who remain missing.
