Taiwan conducts largest-ever disaster preparedness drill amid fears of a mainland China attack

The drills were held amid heightened fears of an attack on the island by Chinese mainland forces, and organisers said they incorporated wartime scenarios similar to what Ukraine has seen since Russia’s invasion, as well as simulated mainland missile attacks on buildings and public transport. Taiwan also plans to stage island-wide air raid drills on July 25-28.
