US, Philippines display firepower in their largest joint military exercises in years

Marines from both countries have also held an island defence drill in the area during the annual Balikatan or “shoulder to shoulder” joint military drills that began on March 28, 2022. The joint exercises were described as the largest in years to be held in the Philippines. US military officials said the objective is to demonstrate the strength of their alliance, while their Philippine counterparts stressed a need for readiness amid “unfolding events” internationally. Fishermen rescued by Korean coast guard in fatal Chinese boat accident #shorts

Search teams with the Korean coast guard have pulled another fisherman from the sea after rescuing at least 12 others in a fatal fishing boat accident off the southwestern coast of South Korea. Fifteen men were working on the Chinese vessel when it capsized in rough seas, killing at least four fishermen. The South Korean coast guard is continuing the search on October 21, 2021, for at least two people who remain missing.
