Russia-Ukraine conflict: US Vietnam War veteran joins ranks of soldiers in Kyiv

In 1968, Straub served 14 months in Vietnam as a sergeant in the mechanised infantry, seeing action during the Tet Offensive. On a recent day off from his duties, Straub toured several villages outside Kyiv which were recently recaptured from Russian troops.
