Ancient treasure trove unearthed in southwest China sheds light on mysterious kingdom

The items unearthed in Sichuan province have helped date what is believed to be a centre of the Shu Kingdom. Of eight sacrificial pits discovered there since the 1980s, six were unearthed between 2020 and 2022. The Sanxingdui site is considered one of the most important archaeological finds of the 20th century.
