Nepal mountain guides prepare to fix ropes at Mount Everest summit ahead of climbing season

Ahead of the 2022 season, a team of eight Nepali mountain guides led by record Everest climber Kami Rita Sherpa have the risky job of fixing ropes along the routes to the summit. The team will be the first to reach the top of Everest as they do the job. Nearly a tonne of ropes, gear and oxygen cylinders has been packed for the team for transport to the Everest base camp.
