Japan to drop Covid-19 test for vaccinated travellers despite having world’s highest case tally

Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced on August 24, 2022, that the testing requirement will be scrapped from September 7. The decision came amid a spike in infections, putting the country at the top of the global list for daily Covid-19 cases.
