It was also the first city in the world to be locked down in an effort to stamp out the virus. After three years of restrictions, China abruptly abandoned its zero-Covid policy in December 2022. Wuhan along with many other Chinese cities initially saw a spike in cases. But weeks later, the city’s residents appear to be ready to move past the pandemic.
