Americans charged with child torture and trafficking in Uganda

The country’s state prosecutors allege that Nicholas Spencer and his wife, Mackenzie Leigh Mathias Spencer, “constantly tortured” their 10-year-old foster son between 2020 and 2022. The charges against the couple were expanded from “aggravated torture of a child” to “aggravated child trafficking” on December 20, 2022. The boy is one of three children fostered by the couple.
