‘We can’t get away’: Self-made bunkers built in Myanmar to protect against junta air strikes

The military government has been fighting armed rebel groups since staging a coup in 2021 that overthrew the democratically elected government. Experts say the junta relies on near-daily air strikes in Kayah state, targeting rebels, but affecting civilians as well. One villager said the bunkers offer protection, but their safety is not always guaranteed.
