China death toll rises after suspected gas blast in northeastern city of Shenyang kills 3

The blast, which reportedly took place at around 8:20am, is suspected to be linked to a gas leak in a restaurant in the capital of Liaoning province. State media said over 100 firefighters were sent to the scene and residents nearby have been evacuated. An investigation into the cause of the blast is under way.
